Essential Evidence Plus (InfoPOEMS) Re-registration


This is a reminder that all University of Mississippi Medical Center's users must re-register Essential Evidence Plus (InfoPOEMS) on their Pocket PC and Palm OS, if they have not already, or the application will freeze when the library's new account becomes active.

Bioethics Resources on the Web


The National Institutes of Health has developed a page of Bioethics Resources on the Web at http://bioethics.od.nih.gov/

Example sites:
  • Under the topic Research Ethics is listed a site on Laboratory Animal Care & Use.

  • Under the topic General Research/Bioethics in the News one of the many sites listed is the IRB Forum giving information on events concerning ethics and policy on research with humans.

New Access for NEJM


The New England Journal of Medicine is now available on the library's electronic journals page directly from the publisher (Highwire Press) instead of through Journals@Ovid. This change allows patrons access to articles in PDF format as well and the HTML that was only available from Ovid. Full Text coverage begins with the January 1993 issue. To access all e-journals, login to the UMMC library page and click on Electronic Journals under Resources.
